The Foundation of Hygiene and Comfort in Sports Facilities: Correct Climate Control

At Levent Tennis Club, a comprehensive ventilation and climate-control application was carried out for the men's and women's locker rooms used by members after their intense training and match schedules. Locker rooms are among the foremost areas where the build-up of humidity, sweat and heat is experienced most severely, owing to their proximity to the shower cubicles, limited natural air circulation and high user density. For this reason, the project was approached with a professional engineering approach in terms of hygiene, comfort and building health alike.

Within the application, a ventilation system specific to the locker rooms was first designed by performing airflow and heat-gain calculations. The installed system brings the moisture accumulating in the space under balanced control, eliminating problems such as mold, bad odor, surface slipperiness and the damp marks seen on walls at their source. The equipment, selected with quiet operating performance and low energy consumption in mind, contributes directly to the club's operating comfort.

The cooling and fresh-air need was solved with a ducted air conditioning system concealed within the suspended ceiling. By fully integrating the indoor unit into the ceiling, the aesthetic integrity of the space was preserved; the airflow was distributed homogeneously through grilles. The ducted air conditioner not only cools the space but also brings in fresh air filtered from outside, combining two critical needs in a single system.

All air ducts, grilles and climate-control equipment were sized in accordance with international HVAC standards and meticulously installed. Thanks to the balanced system that manages fresh-air supply and stale-air extraction in equilibrium, a continuously livable, healthy and hygienic environment has been created in the Levent Tennis Club locker rooms. This successful application in Levent is a concrete reference for the holistic ventilation and air conditioning solutions we offer for tennis clubs, fitness centers, swimming pool complexes and wellness centers.
